Voodoo Sales in Em As a CEO, sales leader or sales person, sometimes it just doesn’t go your way in closing a deal. The wind is just not in your sails. In this song, I suggest that you need to change it up and use Voodoo instead of traditional sales tactics. The chickens in the piece accentuate the use of John McLaughlin’s fusion You Know, You Know, and Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Child. You might notice I play these songs backward to help with the theme “You got to Turn Things Upside Down.”
Before COVID, in 2019, I was invited to Jack Ma’s 60,000 person retirement party in Hangzhou, China. At one point he started singing and playing his electric guitar, as pictured in this music video. I thought I could do better (hardly), and wrote this song, CEO Blues, based on a traditional swing blues structure, with a sprinkling of riffs from Larry Carlton. My Favorite stanza in the song is: The board wants me to make decisions. I try to make excisions. But all I really want to do is get. Funded by Andreessen. While, Andreessen, one of the top Venture Capitalist firms in Silicon Valley, and Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba, may not be well known to the general public, they are emblems of our internet-based lifestyle.
